Camp NaNoWriMo April 2024: UNWRITTEN

Unwritten is a direct sequel to my July 2021 Camp NaNo story, Sleepless. Ilario has been home for a couple months, and things should be looking up, but they aren’t. They feel more miserable than ever, and so very, very alone, as everyone he cares about is busy. And something is wrong with the Sword of Swords, and it haunts them, even from it‘s mount on the wall, where it has been untouched since the liberation of the Heart Court. This all comes to head with an argument and magical accident with the Sword, and Ilario finds himself… in the past, face to face with his own ancestor. Elisive Wand. Elisive Heart. The last Queen of Wands, and the first Queen of Hearts. Dealing with her, a past version of the King of Stars- known as The World King in this place- and the mysterious Aimily Sword that they know nothing about, Ilario just wants to get back home. They have a lot to learn about the past while they‘re here though, and as often is the case, it‘s not as pretty as what made it into the history books. And when the victors write the history, what‘s left unwritten can be the most consequential story of them all.
